Our Goals using the 'Triple Bottom Line'
People            Practices            Planet
People
- Build a strong team who contributes knowledge, expertise, and ideas toward a common goal that benefits all.
- Inspire others to examine their own habits and consumption patterns.
- Build a health conscious, sustainable, and volunteer oriented community.
Practices
- Lead by example as a sustainable tour operation.
- Make donations, create fundraisers, and/or volunteer in areas where a positive difference is made.
- Create partnerships with businesses that have similar practices, values, and goals.
Planet
- Treat the land with Pono (correct, good), as the earlier natives would have. i.e take only what is needed and easily replaceable while giving back and having a sense of respect.
- Have a positive impact on the environment:
- Zero Trash: composting, recycling, and using biodegradable or recyclable materials:
- Zero Emmisions: no carbon footprint and reforestation/planting efforts.
- Buy Local: use locally made/grown products.
- Aquire a comfortable and luxurious 4x4 tour vehicle that is made of all recycled/recycleable components and produces zero pollution.
Actions Speak Louder Than Words
Accomplishing our goals. What we have done. What we are doing.
People
- There are opportunities available to those who can help this company grow. If you are interested in becoming a member of this team and share our values, beliefs, and goals please contact us. With the right team we can make a positive difference and get paid doing it!
- We do our best to inspire others to improve their habits and consumption patterns by taking the things we have learned and passing that knowledge along. Check out the links to websites at the bottom of this page.Â
- Building a health concious, sustainable, and volunteer oriented community requires the right team. Do you have what it takes? Contact us!
Practices
- Come on one of our tours. Check out the website. See for yourself how we are leading by example. Something missing? Let us know!
- Much time has been donated through volunteer work. You may see us volunteering on Mauna Kea at the Visitors Information Station, or even encounter a Search and Rescue volunteer training. Future donations will also include monetary contributions through fund raisers and other methods.
- Check out the 'Info" link and see who our friends on the Big Island are. If you live on the Big Island and share our practices please make contact!Â
Planet
- During our tours nothing significant is destroyed, moved, or messed with. No trash is left behind. If there is trash, we pick it up even if its not ours.Â
- We are getting very close to creating zero trash during our tours. Anytime we can buy or use the more environmentally friendly product/method we do, even if its more expensive. We are currently researching the best organizations for carbon offset programs.
- Until we aquire our dream tour vehicle, we have to work with what is currently available - a Chevy Suburban K2500 4x4. Not very eco-friendly, but conversion methods to get off the gas guzzling habit are also being researched.
