Big island eXcapes was created to bring outstanding service, lavishness, excitement, adventure, inspiration, and safety to travelers who want more from a tour operator. We take the time to understand guests’ needs, limitations, and preferences. At the same time we also recognize that we are using Hawaii’s aina (the land) to run our business, and as a result believe strongly in operating with care and respect, and having a positive impact. For information on what we do to be as "green" as possible check out our section on environmental responsibility.
What we do differently
It is our aspiration to make sure our guests feel they are pampered and and given the attention they deserve. The customer truly does come first. No more than 6 guests tour per day per vehicle, making it a comfortable, roomy, and very personalized experience. Larger groups can also be accomodated for private tours requiring more room. For the standard tours we use a luxury 4x4 SUV with split "bucket" seats. Not only will guests be exceptionally comfortable, but they will also be able to see things they normally would not have been able to in a bus or in some cases a non 4x4 vehicle. All tours include water, tropical fruit juices, and other local style treats. To view our tour options please go to the tours link. If you want to get familiar with who will be leading your adventure visit the meet your guide section. To see memorable pictures from our tours and stunning images captured of the island please visit our photo gallery. Photos and other souvenirs can be purchased in our shop. If you have any questions, feedback, comments or would like to make a reservation please feel free to contact us .
Core Values
Quality of Life  Adventure  Ethical Practice  Friends/Close Relationships
Quality of life is about creating Lokahi (Harmony): a state where everything comes together naturally while achieving serenity, balance, purity, and excellence.
Adventure provides an extraordinary experience that creates everlasting memories of excitement, perceived risk, and beauty.Â
Ethical Practice is about Kuleana (Responsibility): being dependable, reliable, moral and taking accountability for ones actions, while nourishing the land (Malama Aina).
Friends and Close Relationships is about bringing together people who have shared values, goals, intentions, and experiences. It is also about being welcoming to our visitors as Ohana (family), while providing the best Ho'okipa (hospitality) we can.Â
